Half-Mile Farm is a mountain retreat, part of the Old Edwards hospitality group in Highlands. Tracing its origins back to the late 19th century when it was under various owners as a working farm, the property later became a boarding house, summer home and finally an inn in the early 2000s. Old Edwards purchased the property in 2015 and created Half-Mile Farm as it is today.

Farm-fresh food starts each day at Half-Mile farm with the included chef-prepared breakfast made from local ingredients and produce from the organic gardens. Served from 8 to 10:30 a.m. daily. Celebrate each day’s end with complimentary hors d’oeuvres in the Main House from 5 – 6 p.m. each evening. Enjoy a full bar and light bites and a weekly specials menu in J. Henry Farmhouse Tavern with expansive views of the property. Open from noon to 10 p.m. daily.

Arranged around a lovely courtyard, Half-Mile Farm features comfortable luxury rooms with fireplaces, stylish comfy interiors, and balconies that offer tranquil views of the courtyard, lake or surrounding forest. On the outer edge of the property are rustic-luxe cabins that offer a one of a kind experience. Those cabins from historic locations in the South were carefully dismantled, relocated and reconstructed into the three luxury cabins that exist today.

A stay in this Blue Ridge mountainscape features breathtaking mountain vistas, spectacular waterfalls and serene forests. Explore mountain trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Reconnect with nature on 14 acres of tranquil fields, forest and streams surrounding Half-Mile Farm. Canoe along the 6-acre lake or meander through nature trails along a trickling stream. Discover clear lakes and rivers for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and whitewater rafting.

Along Main Street in Highlands you’ll find charming shops, great restaurants, galleries, and more. A short drive from Half-Mile Farm experience everything Highlands has to offer, including the restaurants, lounges and spa at Old Edwards Inn in the center of town.
