Greater Tuna
June 27 – July 21
Terrific New Theatre

Two men. Twenty characters. Welcome to the town of Tuna, Texas. It’s a place where literary works like Huckleberry Finn and Romeo and Juliet are too smutty for the library shelves and the Lion’s Club is too liberal.

“Greater Tuna,” the first in a series of four comedic plays, is the trip to Texas that started it all!
What makes this play so unique is that two men play over 20 eccentric characters and hilariously comment on Southern culture, attitudes, and life in a small town.

Spend a few hours of March 10, 1948 with Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald in Asheville, North Carolina in this play by William Luce. Zelda, a Montgomery native, is famously known as F. Scott Fitzgerald’s muse and spouse. She was exciting, original, witty, talented, and tormented. She was brilliant and unpredictable. This is the real Zelda, not the legend. And she is far more interesting.

McWane Science Center

“RACE: Are We So Different?” brings together the everyday experience of living with race, the role of science in its history, and the findings of contemporary science that are challenging its foundations. Interactive exhibit components, historical artifacts, compelling photographs, and multimedia presentations offer visitors to RACE an eye-opening look at its important subject matter. Developed by the American Anthropological Association in collaboration with the Science Museum of Minnesota, RACE is the first nationally-traveling exhibition to tell the stories of race from biological, cultural, and historical points of view.
