The Dream is Now

Join the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama and the Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice for a screening of The Dream is Now, a new documentary by Oscar-winning Director Davis Guggenheim that tells the story of those directly affected by America’s broken immigration system. A panel discussion and  Q&A will follow the film.

Crimson & Orange Party With a Purpose

You don’t want to miss this unofficial kickoff to Iron Bowl week with football legends from Alabama and Auburn attending. There will be a cocktail buffet featuring Full Moon BBQ, live entertainment, a special autograph session, and a silent auction. The event benefits the ProStart Academy‘s scholarship fund.

This award-winning musical by Stephen Sondheim focuses on adult struggles and relationships in the 1970’s. The story is told in short vignettes that center around Bobby, an eternal bachelor, his ten married friends, and his three girlfriends, all culminating in Bobby’s 35th birthday.

Jessica Kirk Drennan Book Launch

The Alabama Booksmith

Ms. Kirk Drennan’s book Divorce in Alabama was written to offer support and guidance to the citizens of Alabama throughout the process of divorce. It is the most current consumer self-help book specially dedicated Alabama divorce law. The launch and book signing is open to the public.

Magic City Half Marathon & Celebration

This third annual run is part of the Ruben Studdard Celebration Weekend and promises to be bigger than ever! The Celebration Weekend features great music, entertainment, and of course, a half marathon in the heart of Birmingham accompanied by a 5k and a short run/walk for all ages. The event benefits the Ruben Studdard Foundation for the Advancement of Children in the Music Arts.

Holiday Tea

The Zonta Club of Birmingham, which works for the advancement of women, is hosting this special event to kick off the holiday season with friends over tea and a light lunch. Proceeds from the holiday tea will support Santa’s Workshop, an annual event that helps families living in local homeless shelters have a happy holiday season.
