A Tuna Christmas

Terrific New Theatre

This hilarious sequel to Greater Tuna gets to TNT just in time for you to kick up your heels and face the holidays head on. It’s 24 hours before Christmas in Tuna, Texas, and a Christmas phantom is destroying the town’s decorations. What makes this play unique is that just two actors play a total of 24 characters–it will be too funny to miss!

Urban Suburban’s Christmas Party

This second annual comedy fundraiser stars Etta May, the Queen of Southern Sass. Doors open at 6:00 PM, so arrive early to socialize and purchase dinner, drinks, or snacks. The show supports the CanSurvive GYN Cancer Support Group and the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation.

Sloss Holiday Market and Iron Pour

Sloss Furnaces

Sloss Arts is excited to announce its first holiday market. Taking place under the viaduct, the market will feature local vendors selling art, crafts, food, and more–just in time for the holiday season. Attendees will enjoy live music, hot cocoa, and a silent auction alongside numerous booths and an evening iron pour on Saturday.

It’s a Wonderful Life Live Radio Play
December 5 – 8
Fultondale City Hall

The play, inspired by the classic American film, is performed as a 1940s live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. Five actors perform the dozens of characters in the radio play as well as produce the sound effects. Enjoy a dessert reception before the show on opening night and breakfast with Santa before the show on 12/7.

The Magic City Nutcracker

Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church

Now in its second year, the Magic City Nutcracker portrays a highly sophisticated version of the classic Nutcracker ballet, all performed by local talent. A portion of proceeds from each performance will be donated to area charities.

Hello, Dolly!

Winner of ten Tony Awards including “Best Musical,” Hello, Dolly! has been one of the most enduring Broadway classics for 50 years. Emmy-award winner Sally Struthers stars as the strong-willed matchmaker Dolly, who travels to Yonkers, NY to find a match for the ornery half-a-millionaire Horace Vandergelder.

FlameWorks Art Show

This weekend show brings together 11 artists featuring new work for the holidays in various mediums. Steel City Men’s Chorus: Our First Noel!

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is known worldwide for mixing classical and rock music. They’re visiting Birmingham for a Christmas-themed show featuring their album “The Lost Christmas Eve,” which is the third album in the group’s Christmas trilogy.

Magic City Choral Society Christmas Concert

Christmas isn’t complete without a Christmas concert as only the Magic City Choral Society can perform it.  The choir will warm spirits with the sounds of the season featuring live piano and over 90 voices. Admission is free and open to the public; canned good donations will be accepted on site.

Christmas at Arlington

Arlington Antebellum Home and Gardens

Visitors are invited to step back in time as local decorators adorn rooms of the Arlington museum in period holiday décor. Holiday tunes will fill the air while costumed characters from the Mudd Family and Christmas Past welcome visitors to tour the historic mansion, kitchen, and gardens.

Bring Your Old Buddy Scramble

Robert Trent Jones Golf Trails

This year’s golf event is a standard 4-man team scramble, and each entry fee includes golf, cart, and lunch. A presentation of trophies and a drawing for other gifts and prizes will be held at the conclusion of play. The event benefits the Trail’s local community charities.

Annual Christmas Home Tour
December 8 from 1 – 5:00 PM

This annual home tour showcases five houses in the Trussville area that have been beautifully decorated for the holidays. All proceeds will benefit Independence Place, a faith-based non-profit organization created to meet the social and recreational needs of adults with special needs.
