FACES of Birmingham Party

Celebrate Birmingham’s leaders in business, medicine, law, arts and culture featured in the January issue of B-Metro Magazine. Join us for an evening of live music, food & drinks, and good company as we honor this year’s Faces of Birmingham.

There is NO cover charge to enter the event. Complimentary food will be provided, and a cash bar will be available.

Bowl Games at Iron City

Iron City Event Center

Iron City is getting in the bowl game spirit with many of the local alumni chapters for your favorite teams. Watch the BBVA Compass Bowl, Sugar Bowl and National Championship on the 240 square foot projector screen in its event center with a full tailgating buffet available for select games.

Bards & Brews Poetry SLAM
January 3 at 6:30 PM
Birmingham Public Library – Avondale

This monthly get-together featured in B-Metro Magazine invites local poets to perform their slam poetry accompanied by a free craft beer tasting. Guitarist Susan Lawrence will perform first, and the slam will begin immediately after. The event is free and open to the public, and cash rewards will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place.

Gip Gipson’s Birthday Celebration

Local legend Mr. Gip Gipson will be celebrating another birthday (somewhere between 80 and 100) at his world famous juke joint. Enjoy live music by several local acts including Earl “Guitar” Williams and Sassy Brown. You may even hear a few songs written especially for Mr. Gipson!
