Wonder if you’ve got what it takes to be a derby girl? TCR is looking for some fresh meat to join their team. Haven’t skated since you were twelve? No worries! You’ll learn basic skills used in roller derby–skating, stopping, falling–plus a general overview of how the game is played.

8th Annual Acoustic Soup
January 30 from 5:30 – 9 PM

Join VSA Alabama for an evening of live music by the Big Tasties, a silent auction, and delicious soups, breads, and desserts prepared by Birmingham’s most popular chefs. All proceeds benefit VSA Alabama and its programs serving children and adults with disabilities and chronic illnesses through the arts.

Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story

Back by popular demand, this show tells the story of Buddy Holly, a man from Lubbock, Texas who changed the face of popular music, only to die tragically in a plane crash at the age of 22. Audiences will enjoy hits like “Peggy Sue,” “That’ll Be The Day,” and “Raining In My Heart.”

Local Authors Expo

This expo gives local authors an opportunity to sell their books, network with other writers, and attend free workshops. This year, See Jane Write will present a workshop on how authors can use social media to reach readers and promote their work.
