I Like Big Books and I Cannot Lie
July 24 from 5:30 – 8:30 PM
Rogue Tavern

Help raise funds for the Birmingham Public Library with the BPL Young Professionals at this 2nd annual event. You’ll enjoy live music, fun, and a silent auction while helping to support the BPL’s community programming.

Brews, Boots & Bowties
July 24 from 6 – 10:00 PM
Trim Tab Brewing Co.

Ladies, put on your cowboy boots, and guys, don your bowties for this fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association. At this 3rd annual event, you’ll enjoy food from Taziki’s, beer from Trim Tab, live entertainment, and a silent auction–all for a great cause.

Blue Christmas (in July) 8K

Iron City Bham

In the Christmas spirit? This non-street closed race raises awareness and funds for local non-profits while providing participants with a great venue, live blues music, and great food & drink specials after the race. Even better, Santa Claus himself will be handing out awards and prizes to race finishers.

Summer Concert Series
July 24 from 7 – 9:00 PM
Aldridge Gardens

Kick back, relax, and listen to fabulous live music under the stars at this outdoor summer concert. Musicians Bo Berry and Tommy Stewart will be accompanied by an upbeat big band as they perform songs from Lou Rawls’ memorable collection. The Cantina food truck will be on site with delicious food available for purchase.

Total A$$et$ 25th Anniversary Celebration

Don’t let the name fool you–Total A$$et$ is a local 9-piece “band of bankers” that performs music from the 1950s through the 1980s. The band has performed alongside legendary musical acts and is looking forward to celebrating their big anniversary with a fabulous live show.

Lakeshore’s Amazing Race

Modeled after the popular show The Amazing Race, Lakeshore’s Amazing Race gives teams the chance to challenge themselves mentally and physically while supporting the Lakeshore Foundation. Teams will “race” throughout Lakeshore Foundation’s 45-acre campus completing interactive challenges to compete for the grand prize.

Wild West Day

Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum

Travel back to the 1800s and experience life in the Wild West at this family fun day. Enjoy a train ride through the forests of Shelby County, but hang on to your gold and valuables just in case you’re waylaid by desperados! Enjoy old-timey western tunes, and be sure to bring your camera for photos with the outlaws.

Schaeffer Eye Center CityFest
July 26 from 12 noon – 11:00 PM
Railroad Park

This free outdoor music fest features live performances by Taylor Hicks, Ruben Studdard, and The Roots, the house band on NBC’s Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Attendees will also enjoy food from local food trucks, kids’ activities, local art, and a beerfest featuring popular Alabama brews.

Don’t Stop Believin’ 80’s Prom

Dress is your best 80’s prom attire and get ready to dance the night away to awesome music while enjoying great food and drinks. This inaugural event is hosted by the RMHCA Junior Board and benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama.

Jazz in the Park

This free outdoor concert series presented by Magic City Smooth Jazz brings local and national jazz musicians to performances all around Birmingham. This week, the scheduled acts are Phoebe Davis, LaTosha “Love” Brown, and Malik Kofi, who was featured in B-Metro Magazine.

Iron Cinema Movie Night

Iron City recently launched its first-ever movies series with screenings of a collection of music-themed cult classics. Admission is free, and a dinner menu will be available so you can eat and drink while you watch. The series ends with a screening of the cult classic Wayne’s World.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Goldilocks is a lively girl who has one big problem: she can’t keep her hands off other people’s things! When she travels into the woods and finds a cottage full of exciting things, she just can’t resist. Free Movies in the Park

Join the Fultondale Arts Council for a free family movie night Tuesdays this summer. There will be sodas, popcorn, candy, and hot dogs for sale. Bring your blanket or lawn chair to join them for a screening of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.
