Resolution Run

December 27 at 8AM

Red Mountain Park

Kick start your New Year’s resolutions with the Fourth Annual Resolution Run presented by the Trak Shak, Birmingham Track Club and the Friends of Red Mountain Park. Celebrate 2015 with a 5K, 10K, or 15K run or walk. All proceeds will benefit future development at Red Mountain Park. 


Annual Community Kwanza

December 30 at 5PM
Birmingham Civil Rights Institute

Join in with the spirit of family and community at the annual Kwanzaa program. The event kicks off in the Abraham L. Woods Community Meeting Room, and the celebration follows in the Odessa Woolfolk Gallery and will highlight one of seven principles or “Nguzo Saba” of Kwanzaa.


“Staycation” NYE Party

Todd English P.U.B.

The Westin Birmingham and Todd English P.U.B. are offering a special New Year’s Eve Staycation to welcome 2015. NYE: A Viennese Celebration

December 31 at 6PM

Alabama Theatre

What better way to welcome the New Year than with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. Ring in 2015 with waltzes, operatic selections, and a glass of bubbly. Join conductor Christopher Confessore and vocalist Lisa Vroman for the celebration.

New Year’s Eve at Old Car Heaven

December 31 at 8PM

The annual New Year’s Eve event is coming up. This year’s live music will be performed by six-piece Birmingham band II Da Maxx. Tickets will include free on site parking, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a midnight champagne toast, and party favors. Limited table reservations will be available.


Roaring Twenties Party

Das Haus: German Club

This New Year’s Eve, the club will have live ragtime jazz music provided by The King Quartet. Heavy hors d’oeuvres are being prepared by Meme and are included in the ticket price. Get Down Downtown

Loft Entertainment District

New Year’s Eve bar crawl, anyone? Buy a wristband and get into all six bars with a free shuttle that will loop around every 15 minutes. Make some stops at The Collins Bar, Carrigan’s Public House, Pale Eddie’s Pour House, Rogue Tavern, Wine Loft Birmingham and Steel City Lounge. The Sheraton will offer limited rooms with special rates if you are with the event.

Spend your New Year’s Eve at the J. Clyde. Dine on a pre-fixed three-course meal of peasant garlic soup, braised short ribs, and pan seared grouper or a vegetarian choice, followed by delicious espresso pot de crème. Beer pairings will also be available. Live music from Roosevelt Franklin and a champagne toast at midnight will start 2015 off right.

Celebrate the coming of a new year — roaring twenties style! The Great Gatsby themed party will combine everything you love about craft beer with everything you want in the perfect party. Musician Trick Zipper will kick off the celebration on the patio. NYE at Rojo

Join The Birmingham Pledge Foundation for the 3rd annual hike to Hawk’s Ridge Overlook and enjoy a communal reading of The Birmingham Pledge. The exhilarating hike will have beautiful views of Birmingham and a great opportunity to affirm our commitment to ending racism one person at a time.
