2015 Men’s Lakeshore Cup  

Now through April 2
Lakeshore Foundation

The USA Men’s Wheelchair Basketball team will compete against Canada, Great Britain, and Australia in this year’s Men’s Lakeshore Cup here in Birmingham. This is a great opportunity to see these teams as they prepare for the summer Paralympic Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Help the Birmingham Zoo celebrate its 60th Anniversary this weekend by f
eeding the lorikeets in the Lorikeet Aviary, enjoying the new Wildlife Shows, taking a ride on the new Wild Slide, soaring through Alabama Wilds on the Soaring Safari Zipline Adventure, camel rides, face painting, giraffe feedings, and playing in the Zoo Splash Pads.


Kayak and Canoe Trip

Relieve some of that pent up energy from this week with a Southeastern Outings kayak/canoe trip down Clear Creek at the Bankhead National Forest in Winston, Ala. this Saturday. Bring your own boat and meet at 7:45 a.m. at the Kmart in Green Springs or at 8:45 a.m. from the Jack’s in Jasper.

Cottontail Express

Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum

Hop aboard the Cottontail Express for a ride to Peter Cottontail’s meadow. Join in the fun at the meadow hunting for Easter eggs and partaking in the jump station, coloring station, and sandbox. Be sure to bring your camera to take photos with Peter Cottontail himself.

The second annual Hop & Shop Easter shopping event will kick off the spring shopping season in Homewood from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Retailers in Downtown Homewood will let customers  hunt for Easter Eggs that hold discount coupons, gift cards, candy and other prizes. The sidewalk Easter parade starts at noon.
