Birmingham Boat Show 

January 21-24


This show was the first public event ever held at the BJCC in 1972. It is now the oldest and largest show in the state highlighting the latest in boats, motors, outdoor gear, and more. 



Latin Dance Night

January 22, 9:00 p.m.
Iron City


Put on your dancing shoes and prepare for a night of fun. Salsa and Bachata lessons begin at 9:00, and after you’ve learned the moves, you can show them off to Latin beats mixed by DJ Paco.

Enrique Martinez Celaya: Small Paintings

This exhibit will begin with an opening reception on Friday, 1/22 from 6-8 p.m. In addition to the two galleries featuring small paintings, the third gallery will feature five major large paintings by this talented artist. Read more about this striking exhibit

Red Shoe Run

Lace up your running shoes for the 12th Annual Red Shoe Run. Participate in the 10 mile, 5K, or 1 mile race. The money raised will support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama.  



Lyric Masquerade Ball

The Lyric Theatre


Celebrate the Mardi Gras season by dancing the night away on the stage of the
newly renovated Lyric Theatre. The formal event features Chuck and the Kinds playing New Orleans style jazz, hors d’oeuvres, signature cocktails, and more.

The musical duo made up of Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez embodies the tradition of the well-traveled singer-songwriter while cultivating a modern style that’s uniquely their own.

ARC Stories: “So There I Was”

Arc Stories is
a live storytelling event where great storytellers share true stories. The theme for the January event is “So There I Was…” All VIP ticket proceeds benefit Urban Avenues, a local nonprofit that bridges art and education to transform Birmingham  communities.

BourbonHam will combine the South’s most legendary bourbons and barbecues in a unique tasting event benefiting the Alabama-Mississippi Chapter of the National MS Society. Enjoy live blues, NFL playoff football, and classic cars.
