Langhorne Slim & The Law

The Spirit Moves is Langhorne’s newest artistic attempt and an effervescent collection of cinematic, joyful noise, rooted in folk, soul, and blues. Released in 2015, the album marks his second with rock-solid band The Law.

Good People Brewing Company, Saturn

Happenin Records, Good People Brewing Company, Saturn, and a whole bunch of local Birmingham friends are coming together to host Happenin Fest 2016! This year, the DIY celebration will span two parties and two venues. 


Mendelssohn “Italian” Symphony
April 1-2, 8 p.m.
Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center

Mendelssohn’s musical postcard from his travels in Italy is just one of several delights in this exciting program. Ginastera’s dance rhythm-infused Harp Concerto will be interpreted by young virtuoso Bridget Kibbey, and Alabama Symphony Orchestra will premiere a new work by Venezuelan composer Paul Desenne.

Iron City

SOJA was originally formed by a group of friends while still in middle school and has since built a massive, dedicated fanbase around the world. The Grammy Nominated D.C. area band blend reggae, Latin, rock, and hip-hop.


Woodlawn Street Market
April 2, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
1 55th Place South

This urban street market taking place in the heart of Historic Woodlawn was conceived for those who are always searching for unique, specialty creations. Visitors can expect merchants selling produce, goods, and prepared food, along with a few home-grown restaurants and retailers.


The David Mayfield Parade / Mandi Rae & The Status

The Nick

David Mayfield is a singer-songwriter & Grammy nominated producer who stepped out of the sideman shadows with his 2011 album The David Mayfield Parade. Mandi Rae has amassed a library of over 40 original songs, 3 full length albums, and has picked up the banjo & harmonica during her music career. This show is one not to miss.

Enjoy an elegant evening of capes and cocktails as McWane Science Center invites you to slip into your best superhero costume and enjoy a special screening of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in IMAX. Meet characters including Batman, Catwoman, Superman, and Supergirl. 


Opera Shots

Cahaba Brewing Company

Opera Birmingham presents a third installment of their popular concert series Opera Shots at the newly relocated and renovated Cahaba Brewing Company. As part of the festivities, there will be ticket giveaways, social media contests,and guests will also receive a discount code to use in purchasing tickets for future Opera Birmingham performances.
