Pair This: Jinsei’s Watermelon Margaritas & Alabama Rolls

I was delighted when Jinsei began opening for lunch recently. We stop in for Saturday lunch and escape the heat in our favorite seat, the bar’s corner banquette.

Jinsei’s watermelon margaritas—a seasonal obsession of mine—offer another reason to escape the summer heat at Jinsei. We order one with a sugar rim and one with a salt rim. Both arrive with luscious slices of fresh, local watermelon on the rims of Riedel O glasses.

We pair these juicy, refreshing and thirst-quenching cocktails with the Alabama Rolls. The line-up of skillfully executed, delicate and hearty rolls of tempura shrimp, avocado, and tuna explode with freshness and flavor. And dessert is guilt-free. Decadent Chocolate Baby Bites are petit-four-sized and served with cake forks, not chopsticks.
