Kickin’ it for Kids with Cancer

Samford University Soccer Field
Watch the Samford Bulldogs women’s soccer team take on Belmont University at this fundraiser game for the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer. The event is free, and profits from t-shirt sales will be donated to the cause. In addition to an exciting night of soccer, you’ll enjoy plenty of other fun activities and refreshments.

 


Miss Vulcan 1939

Vulcan Park & Museum
Celebrate the 75th anniversary of the dedication of Vulcan Park with this original musical comedy performed by Red Mountain Theatre Company. Inspired by actual events, this performance will transport audiences back in time to the first (and only) Miss Vulcan pageant. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the show under the stars at Vulcan Park and Museum.

Harper’s Heart Run

This inaugural 5K and 1-mile fun run benefits the Children’s Heart Foundation, the leading organization in funding congenital heart defect research in America. The run is named for a local baby girl, Harper, who was born with heterotaxy syndrome and will be undergoing open heart surgery sometime after her first birthday.

Remy’s Dog Park Opening

Red Mountain Park
The long awaited arrival of Remy’s Dog Park is here! The Birmingham community has invested 750+ hours of sweat equity to clearing the park, and now the 6-acre space is ready to welcome you and your dog. The park will officially open at 9 AM, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony will commence at 11 AM.
