Auto Show Charity Preview

It’s all about 
 at the Alabama Auto Show. This year’s preview gala benefits Racing for Children’s, which supports the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s of Alabama. Come for food from Hot & Hot, brews from Avondale, and Led Zeppelin tunes from The Black Jacket Symphony.

Can’t come? No worries! B-Metro will be live-posting (and jamming) the night away.

Cirque Alys
April 29 through May 1
Alys Stephens Center

Celebrate spring with Cirque Alys 2, a theatrical show featuring Australia’s Sway Pole Act, which fuses theatre, dance and circus together at an elevated medium. Artists sway from 16-foot-tall poles creating a largescale visual art installation.

Alabama Auto Show
April 30 through May 3

The Alabama Auto Dealers Auto Show will
 feature 2015’s hottest cars: domestic cars, import cars, light trucks, SUVs, and hybrid vehicles. Come to look at more than 400 vehicles from manufacturers all over the world, and talk to manufacturer’s reps and product specialists. The Birmingham Automobile Dealers Association will be on hand to assist in product education, feature comparisons and safety standards.

Gather for a taste of Birmingham’s fastest food at the Food Truck Round-Up this Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Brookwood Village. Check out local art as you eat fresh food from trucks like 
Cantina on Wheels, Dreamcakes, Ezelle’s Catfish Cabin, Greg’s Hotdogs, Melt, Neal’s on Wheels, and Off the Hook.

Don’t miss out on rock ‘n’ roll innovator and Grammy award-winner Steve Winwood, who co-founded the band Traffic, partnered with Eric Clapton, and wrote the song “Back in the High Life.” He’s playing at the Alys Stephens Center this Saturday.

 here–the week that Birmingham’s biggest designers and fashionistas have been waiting for: ESPN correspondent Niki Noto and national TV host and producer Tara Gray will lead local designers’ work (like Gunnar Deatherage, Laura Kathleen, and Heidi Elnora) down the Birmingham Fashion Week runway with the help of local models.
