RMTC Holiday Spectacular

Red Mountain Cabaret Theatre

Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum
Hop aboard the North Pole Express and enjoy milk & cookies, Christmas carols, and Christmas stories while you travel. Upon arrival at the brilliantly decorated North Pole, Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves board the train to visit with everyone, so be sure to bring your camera.

Holiday Open House & Trunk Show
Tonight at 5:00 PM
Tonya Jones SalonSpa – English Village
This trunk show and shopping event features Uptown Sweats by Kiya Tomlin and Sandra Cadavid, two of the Northeast’s hottest fashion designers who are coming to Birmingham to premier their newest collections. The event also includes complimentary hors d’oeuvres, spirits, and grab bags for the first 50 guests.

Birmingham Art Crawl

This 3rd annual comedy event is hosted by and benefits The Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation.

Comedians for this year’s event include Karen Mills, an ovarian cancer survivor who provides a whole new comical insight into life after cancer, and John Morgan, better known as the “Ragin’ Cajun.”

Christmas with Michael W. Smith

Leslie S. Wright Center – Samford University

Backed by the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, singer Michael W. Smith will bring holiday cheer to Birmingham with The Spirit of Christmas Tour. Smith will perform traditional Christmas songs like The Miracle of Christmas, It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, and Happy Holidays.

BSC Carol Service

Canterbury United Methodist Church
One of Birmingham-Southern College’s oldest traditions, this 79th annual concert is free and open to the public. It
features songs performed by the Concert Choir, Southern Chorale, and the BSC Alumni Choir as well as scripture readings from community members.

FlameWorks Art Show

This 5th annual gathering of artists takes place at artist Kevin Irwin’s downtown studio. This year’s weekend-long show brings together 12 artists
including Kevin Irwin, Melanie Colvin, Sarah Conklin, Chris Davis, Darrell Ezekiel, Pippin Frisbie-Calder, Bethanne Hill, Jane Marshall, Kay Moates, Chiharu Roach, Byron Sonnier, and Daisy Winfrey.

At this 6th annual art event, local artists will be offering their one-of-a-kind art for sale, including pottery, jewelry, fabric art, paintings, drawings, print making, photography, and more. Attendees can also enjoy a fun “Pinterest Project” or the annual Christmas Tour of Homes, which is happening the same day.

Golfers, this one’s for you: one of Birmingham’s biggest golf events happens this weekend at all RTJ golf trails except Lakewood. Proceeds from the tournament will be divided amongst a variety of local charities that impact the state of Alabama as a whole.

Answer to Cancer Concert

Regions Field
Hear St. Paul and The Broken Bones, Girls Guns and Glory, and Amy Black perform live at this concert benefitting the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s of Alabama. The family-friendly event will also have food, drinks, silent and live auctions, and a photo booth.

WorkPlay
Get ready to enjoy great live music and raise money to combat childhood cancer. At this 5th annual event, local bands will battle it out in celebration of the life of Sam Lapidus. Funds will benefit the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s of Alabama.

 


A Very BMR Christmas

McWane Science Center

Bring your family to the most magical place around this holiday season–Winter Wonderland is back at McWane! Laughter is in the air as children coast down the Ice Slide and take a whirl across the room on the extended zip line. Climb aboard the McWane Train and go for a ride, or try your luck at ice fishing.

Considered the Sundance of songwriters festivals, this annual music event brings together the best in legendary and up-and-coming singer/songwriters at 25 venues along the scenic Highway 30A. This year’s lineup features 150 artists including Graham Nash, the Indigo Girls, Leon Russell, Jason Isbell, and Shawn Mullins.
