i Gives Back

IBERIABANK is launching its “i Gives Back” campaign this month with the collection of school supplies for children in need at Fultondale Elementary School in Fultondale, AL.   Through August 14, the community can donate new school supplies–such as notebooks, backpacks, folders etc.–at any of IBERIABANK’s eight Birmingham locations.

Beer Dinner in the Ball Park

The Birmingham Originals will host the first official beer dinner at Regions Field during the Thursday Birmingham Barons game. The evening will feature ten Birmingham Originals’ restaurants, each offering a signature dish expertly paired with a hand-crafted beer from a local Birmingham brewery. The courses and beers will be presented prior to innings 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, allowing chefs and partnering brewmasters to talk about their respective pairing between bats.

Fresh Ground Comics 10th Anniversary

Local stand-up comedy show Fresh Ground Comics is turning 10 years old! And what better way to celebrate the anniversary of a comedy show than with… well, a comedy show! “I’m very proud of what we’ve done and that we’ve stuck it out this long,” says founder Chris Davis. “I would love to have Birmingham know and share in it with me and the rest of my fellow comics and, of course, the people who are gracious enough to come to our show each month.

Glow in the Park

Get ready for the ultimate social running event! Glow in the Park is a 5K Fun Run that takes place just after dark, providing a unique experience with glow colors and lighting! The run includes “obstacles” along the course for runners to conquer, including foam pits, glow-water sprays, glow-powder dustings, and an inflatable slide into the finish! It all leads to a dance party at the end of the race. Proceeds from Glow in the Park will benefit the American Diabetes Association.

Let’s hear it for the girls! Come check out the first annual fashion show fundraiser for Big Oak Ranch, an organization that provides housing for kids needing a chance. The girls from the Ranch are excited to be modeling clothing from a.k.a. Girl Stuff. 100% of donations and 10% of proceeds from the store will go towards Big Oak Ranch.
