A very limited number of tickets will be sold for this event. Chefs for the Cure is an exclusive tasting event that features an array of gourmet cuisine from some of Birmingham’s finest chefs. Each chef will bring his or her unique flavor, style, and fare to their station at The Club. Enjoy signature dishes while bidding on silent auction items throughout the evening!  The evening kicks-off with a cocktail reception at 6pm presented by Cathead Vodka. Start the evening with the amazing appetizers from Mafiaoza’s, Sol Y Luna, Little Savannah, and Satterfield’s. Then progress through the entrees from John’s City Diner, Homewood Gourmet, The J. Clyde, and Ocean. Finish the night with desserts from Ted’s Restaurant and The Culinard. Each chef prepares their signature dish directly in front of the guests, making this event a wonderful way to interact with your favorite restaurants.

Developed by the American Anthropological Association in collaboration with the Science Museum of Minnesota, RACE is the first nationally traveling exhibition to tell the stories of race from the biological, cultural, and historical points of view. We share the excitement of the community about our Birmingham Barons baseball team coming back to the city to play at the New Regions Field. That’s why we are offering a shuttle service that picks up game goers at the Lakeview and Pepper Place areas, takes them to the stadium and brings them back when the games end. Fultondale Arts Council is hosting its Third Annual Black Creek Arts Festival and Juried Art Show on June 8 from 10 am -4 pm at Black Creek Park in Fultondale.   The event will feature more than 30 artist booths with artists from around the Southeast as well as musical entertainment and children’s arts activities.  There also will be a number of food vendors on-hand for this year’s festival.

The popular “Symphony in the Summer” series, which is sponsored by BBVA Compass  has drawn large crowds of music lovers of all ages in its first two years, with the orchestra performing classics and pops al fresco.

On Friday, June 7 at 8 p.m., Christopher Confessore conducts Verdi’s Overture to “La forza del destino,” Suites 1 and 2 from Bizet’s “Carmen” and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7 in D minor, Op. 70.

Roderick Cox takes over on Saturday, June 8, also at 8 p.m., for Copland’s “An Outdoor Overture,” Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 and Overture to “Egmont,” and selections from Copland’s “Rodeo.”

Sunday, June 9, is designated Family Fun Day, with a variety of children’s activities beginning at 5 p.m. and the music starting at 6 p.m. Confessore will conduct a wide mix of patriotic music, Broadway and movie tunes and other favorites.
