Swingshift Pop-Up Dinners

One of Birmingham’s most unique dining experiences begins this week. Swingshift Dinner guests dine among friends and enjoy one of a kind meals prepared by Birmingham’s up-and-coming chefs including Victor King, Wil Drake, Robin Bashinksy and John Hall. Mummenschanz has captivated audiences worldwide for over four decades. The performers’ use common, mundane items and bring them to life as fantastical characters, creating an interplay revealing the truths of everyday life. The performance is suitable for all ages, and is sure to instill delight and surprise in its audience members.

Conquer Cancer Run

St. Vincent’s One Nineteen

The American Cancer Society’s 11th annual Brenda Ladun Conquer Cancer Run is back. Run for hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported and that a cure for cancer will soon be found. The event features a 5K through Greystone, and a 1-Mile Color Explosion Fun Run for the whole family.

Chili Cook-Off

Brookwood Village

The 11th annual Chili Cook-Off benefiting the Exceptional Foundation is a one of a kind event. Experience the playful yet serious competition between teams who vie for the judges’ approval, enjoy Good People beer, taste chili and listen to live music–all for a great cause. There will be a kidzone featuring a moonwalk, face painting station and Star Wars characters.

Alabama Parkinson’s Fighter Walk
March 7 from 8AM to 10AM
Veterans Park in Alabaster

Walk for a cause and help raise funds to fight Parkinson’s at the Alabama Parkinson’s Fighter Walk. Join the walk to empower those who live with, and honor those who lived with Parkinson’s. Snacks, refreshments and vendors providing health information will be onsite. Proceeds raised go to the Parkinson’s Unity Walk, which gives all donations to Parkinson’s Research.

Holi: Indian Culture Festival

Birmingham Museum of Art

Take a stroll through the Museum’s Southeast Asian and Indian galleries in honor of one of the biggest Hindu holidays: Holi. Bring your family and spend the day enjoying art activities, scavenger hunts, henna tattoos, live music and performances, traditional Indian food and more. End the day throwing beautiful, festive colors to welcome in spring.

Salvador’s Deli

The Salvador’s Deli fundraiser was created to award art materials to the Greater Birmingham area visual teachers and students in need of art supplies. The event will join Birmingham’s art, food and brewing communities featuring art made from food by local artists, art students and chefs. The event is sure to be a fun-filled evening with art, food, local beer and live music.
