This annual sale offers customers a chance to shop over 100,000 plants with each purchase benefitting educational programming at The Gardens. Annuals, biennials, climbers, bedding plants, herbs, vegetables, roses, daylilies, bonsai, camellias, tropicals, irises, perennials, and much more are available for purchase.

Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony
April 15 & 16, 8 p.m.
Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center

The first four notes of Beethoven’s Fifth are the most famous in all of classical music, and all that follow have proven equally as iconic. Also, for the first time on the Masterworks stage, projections by multi-media artist Jean-Jacques Gaudel will accompany a performance of Cherubini’s Requiem in C Minor, a work Beethoven held in higher esteem than Mozart’s.

 


Mutt Strut
April 16, 9 a.m.
UAB Campus Green

The 7th Annual Mutt Strut is presented by Vet Eye Care in honor of Christopher Nelms. The day will be packed with fun for not only the avid runner and dog-lover, but for the whole family. From running the 5K, walking the 1 mile, receiving an awesome swag bag, to visiting local vendors, you will not only have a great day, but you will also be supporting local nonprofit Hand in Paw.


 


Paul Meyers Memorial Golf Tournament & Party
April 16, 4:30-11 p.m.
Highland Park Golf Course

In addition to the glow-in-the-dark golf game, non-golfers are invited to join the party for a barbeque dinner catered by Full Moon including complimentary beer & wine, silent auction, and live music. All proceeds from the tournament benefit the Paul Meyers Medical Mission Trip to Haiti.

Join the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama for the 8th annual Pink Palace Casino Night as they get decked out in Diamonds & Denim. Enjoy Vegas-style casino gaming, a silent auction, live music, food and drinks, and a prize drawing at the end of the evening. Proceeds will benefit breast cancer research in Alabama.
