Sugar and the Hi-Lows / Gabe Dixon
WorkPlay, 12/12, 8:00 PM

The duo of Nashville singer-songwriters Trent Dabbs and Amy Stroup debuted their “their rockabilly ‘n’ retro soul revue” (Huffington Post) in November with the single See It For Yourself. The song was featured in USA Today’s Playlist and has received airplay on Triple A and Americana stations. The writing duo has co-written several songs over the past three years, some of which have been heard on TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Parenthood, and Private Practice, to name a few. A departure in sound from the moody, subdued tone of their previous collaborations, their style and substance is a throw-back to a bygone era of the 50s and 60s, inspired by Motown, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye and The Temptations. Suit up and sashay down to WorkPlay tonight for Sugar and the Hi-Lows! More details here

Boasting a sound reminiscent of those that came many years before him, the young musician Dylan Leblanc is a Muscle Shoals native who has spent the majority of his life surrounded by the rich musical history many artists can only dream of.   Recently signed to the London-based label Rough Trade Records, Leblanc’s newest album is Cast The Same Old Shadow. Joining Leblanc at Bottletree are fellow Muscle Shoals natives Belle Adair. Recently featured in the September issue of Relix magazine as part of the “new sound of Muscle Shoals,” Belle Adair has been garnering the attention of many due to their fresh, folk pop sound.  Their self-released six-song EP is filled with quiet harmonies that make one feel at home with every single song. Both of these acts have played Secret Stages and we’re glad that Bottletree is bringing the distinctive talents of  Dylan Leblanc and Belle Adair back home to Alabama! More details here
