Ben Folds

Alabama Theatre

Multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter Ben Folds first found mainstream success as the leader of the critically acclaimed Ben Folds Five. He has gone on to have a very successful solo career, recording multiple studio albums, as well as music for film and television.


Holiday Open House

Nov. 12, 5-8 p.m.
Pepper Place

Kick off the holiday season with extended hours and merriment at Pepper Place. 
There will be plenty of food, drinks, live music, and raffle prizes and events at participating tenants. Attendees are invited to bring an unopened toy that will be donated to a child in need. 


Into The Woods

Nov. 12-21, 5-8 p.m.
Birmingham-Southern College Theatre 

Experience a postmodern reimagining of Grimm’s Fairy Tales where witches conjure curses with a groovy rap, Prince Charming’s eye roves, and great giants stalk the land. Ten student actors will perform, directed by Michael Flowers.


Birmingham Home and Gardens Inspiration Home

The 2015 Birmingham Home & Garden Inspiration Home, located in Mountain Brook, showcases the latest trends in home design. Take a tour of the home to see the 
work of local designers. 


Taste of Triumph

Nov. 12, 5:30 p.m.
Iron City

The Taste of Triumph is an annual fundraiser gala presented by Triumph Services, a local nonprofit organization providing services for adults with developmental disabilities. Guests will enjoy a spirited evening of beer and wine tasting, live music, and silent and live auctions.


The Grand Christmas Lighting Event
Nov. 12, 6 p.m.

The Outlet Shops of Grand River

Experience the magic as Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive from the North Pole to celebrate the lighting of The Grand Christmas Tree. Enjoy live performances, interactive entertainment, balloon art, cookie decorating, and much more.


ASO presents Salute to the Armed Forces

Nov. 13, 8 p.m.
Samford University’s Wright Center

Join the Alabama Symphony Orchestra for an evening of patriotic music including a special tribute to veterans. The concert will be enhanced by powerful imagery projected above the orchestra by noted multimedia artist Nicholas Bardonnay.



The Diary of Anne Frank

The JCCH Theatre Department presents The Diary of Anne Frankbased on the book of the writings kept by a young girl while she was in hiding for two years with her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands.


Bankston Bash 2.0

Nov. 14, 1-10 p.m.
Good People Brewing Company

Celebrate the life of the Autism Society of Alabama’s late friend and junior board president David Bankston. There will be a cornhole tournament hosted by Alabama Cornhole with cash prizes and a big screen television showing football all day long.


Celebrate Singing Santa’s Arrival

Nov. 14, 10 a.m.
Brookwood Village

Singing Santa returns during a vibrant stage show on Village Lane featuring an array of local talent. 
Children can enjoy holiday arts and crafts, cookie decorating, face painters, balloon artists, and special visits from ballerinas and magical snow fairies. 


Step Pepper turns Five

Nov. 14, 2 p.m.
Saturn Birmingham

Local record label Step Pepper presents a day of non-stop music – 14 acts on two stages –  to celebrate five years of business. There will be drink specials and raffle giveaways. The first 50 guests 
 receive a free sampler and other goodies. 


Remembrance and Resistance

Nov. 15, 3-5:30 p.m.

 of Flight

This program will honor and remember  Alabama veterans as well as the Belgium 
 movement that took place during World War II. 
 will also be a
 ceremony of honor led by Belgian officials.
