“Lux Somnia”:
Light Dreams
A Digital Arts
& Music Festival

Outside Alys Stephens Center
5/2- 5/3, 7:30 PM

It’s the intersection where art & technology meet, where an individual’s dream becomes our shared reality, where light becomes a catalyst for community. A team of local artists will use UAB’s Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center as a canvas for their digitally projected artworks, i.e light dreams. The entire Southern facade of the Alys Stephens Center will be wrapped and transformed into a giant projection screen. Curated by the Alys Stephens Center and mad scientist/artist Jean Jacques Gaudel, the event’s centerpiece will be a series of artists’ dreams projected onto the canvas, all designed specifically to animate the building, celebrating the union of art, music, and light. Pulsating live music from Blue Galaxy String Project and Juka Tribe featuring Eric Essix, Sharrif Simmons, & Erynias Tribe, accompanied by live V-jing on the building from John & Katie Gaiser, along with students from ArtPlay. The event is FREE to attend with donations to benefit future programming initiatives encouraged.
