Birmingham’s 10 Most Beautiful Women
Deadline extended to March 26!

B-Metro Magazine is on the lookout for the ten most beautiful women in Birmingham to be featured in our annual Beauty Book. To enter, please send the following to bmetrobeautifulwomen@gmail.com:

  • Headshot
  • Full body shot
  • Full name, phone #, email

Entrants must be at least 18 years of age and be a current resident of the Birmingham metro area. The top ten will have their photo taken by one of our professional photographers to be featured in our 2014 Beauty Book.

The Outlet Shops of Grand River is encouraging customers to spring clean their closets for the greater good and receive spending cash in the process as part of its 2nd annual “Spring Out” event benefiting the King’s Home. Customers who donate 10 or more gently used clothing items will receive exclusive sales and discounts.

This Friday, join the Birmingham Hammers as they host a soccer match between UAB Men’s Soccer and the Atlanta Silverbacks. Proceeds raised from ticket sales will support the Hammers’ efforts to bring professional soccer to the city of Birmingham.

PAWS in the Garden

Bring your pooch out for a stroll in the Gardens! This day-long event features food for canines and their human companions, fashion for furry friends, and expert advice on dog health and training. Attendees will be able to meet some adorable animals ready for adoption from the Shelby County Humane Society.


19th Annual Showcase of Bands
March 22 at 11:00 AM
Bessemer Civic Center

This annual music showcase invites you to experience the best in local bluegrass music. Enjoy performances by over a dozen local groups, including Backwoods Revival, Dixie Bluegrass Boys, Free Indeed, Big Canoe Creek, and Over the Mountain. Plus, guests can take part in one of the instrument workshops.

Cherry Blossom Festival

Birmingham Botanical Gardens

This 9th annual free festival presented by the Japan-America Society of Alabama takes place in the Japanese Gardens. Stop by to enjoy a haiku contest, martial arts demonstrations, a film screening, origami, calligraphy and sumi-e tables on display. The Toshinan Tea House will be open for viewing throughout the day.
