Maki Fresh has a new focus that pleases all: rice bowls, sushi rolls, and sliders. And true to its name everything at Maki is fresh. They make their own sauces, batters, and pickles.
Today we order all three. Hibachi Steak Bowl is a delicious meal in itself. Tender and tasty bites of steak are enveloped by cucumbers, sliced grape tomatoes, carrots, yellow bell peppers, and edamame—all atop a bed of rice, with eel sauce and Maki spicy sauce. Kyoto is a pristine plate of sushi. Rolls of spicy crab salad, succulent salmon, avocado, and Maki spicy sauce melt in the mouth. We opt for surf or turf sliders, prime beef and grilled salmon. Maki spicy sauce and katsu sauce add a touch of heat and flavor to the scrumptious ground prime beef slider, topped with incredible house pickles. And the lovely, thick slice of salmon is topped with fresh arugula, wasabi aioli, and lemon-thyme vinaigrette and sings with freshness.
