Birmingham’s newest boutique hotel provides the backdrop for our ballroom wedding inspiration.
The season when love is in the air and champagne toasts are clinking is fast approaching. This inspirational styled shoot, including some of Birmingham’s hottest wedding vendors, provides visuals for future B-Metro brides to be.
Glamorous weddings are officially back in style and what an amazing way to showcase the luxurious ballroom of the Grand Bohemian Hotel than an ode to old Hollywood glamour. The ballroom was transformed into an extravagant array of sequined linens and bold florals. A striking palette of gold, black, and white adorned the tables and ceremony area. High-back lounge sofas added the perfect amount of drama to complement the room’s ornate chandeliers. Draping orchids, roses, and hydrangeas with white candelabras were the focal point on the long royal table. Beads, gold branches, and fine china added an abundance of texture throughout the room.
Incorporating your personal style into any wedding has always been an important element in wedding décor and bridal wear. Classic elements such as lace, pearls, and dramatic trains are among favorites for brides this season. Not only are pearls a beautiful statement on your wedding day, but they are a future family heirloom.
But pearls are not the only jewelry of choice these days—brides are also choosing jewelry with colorful stones and statement pieces that are more eye-catching than subtle. With glamorous weddings and Hollywood style, bigger has always been better. We’re beginning to see larger necklaces and bracelets this season.
In keeping with the eclectic surroundings of the Grand Bohemian, where artists thrive, live art provided for the ceremony and reception is the new must-have. Photography has always been the way to document and create memories and it always will be. But having an artist capture the atmosphere during the event, whether it be the bride and groom, the cake, or guests interacting is the new way to showcase the couple’s creative style. It also provides modern entertainment for your guests. Local watercolorist Carrie Beth Taylor was able to capture the atmosphere in a work of art that brides will treasure and display in their homes for years to come.
