Krista Conlin

Name: Krista Conlin

Age: 34

My hometown: Birmingham

Profession: Principal of KC Projects, a full-service public relations agency that brands companies and positions entrepreneurs.

My passion: Travel. I try to go somewhere new at least once a year. As writer Miriam Beard says, “Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.”

What is your most marked characteristic? My tenacity and unyielding spirit. Regardless of the circumstances or obstacles placed before me I stubbornly refuse to yield to the concept of impossible, because without pushing the limits of what we think we can do we never grow to our full potential.

People always recognize me by my…Voice and hearty laugh. Laughing with friends can be the shortest distance between two people.

How would your friends describe you? As a very loyal friend who holds integrity at the top of my list and the first to call to have a good time and great laughs.

I am guilty of: Everything and nothing, it just depends on who you ask.

My best friend says I am: Always two steps ahead of the crowd

Guilty pleasure: I love a good shiatsu massage

What is your greatest fear? Losing a loved one without getting to say goodbye and telling them how much I love them.

Talents (or talents you wish you had): Foresight. One gift I wish I had is the talent to sing, but don’t get me wrong. It doesn’t stop me from trying.

What is your motto/mantra? I have two…

– Do today what others only think of trying to do tomorrow.

– Don’t do anything halfway unless you are willing to be half happy.

Qualities you most like in a man? Honesty, humor and adventure.

What trait do you most deplore in others? Close-minded thinking

Favorite journey or trip: My recent journey to Africa. I witnessed some of the most unforgettable, untamed beauty.

What is your current state of mind? Hopeful and excited about the recent launch of KC Projects and optimistically expectant of everything ahead.

You can never have too many…New ideas because in public relations following the herd only takes you to pasture and my clients expect to continuously grow and never be stagnant. •
