Lauren Barrett brings a lifetime of professional experience to his view of life in Liberty Park. An architect in practice with his son at Barrett Architectural Studio, Lauren designs both residential and commercial buildings and  has for decades.

“As an architect, I have been impressed with the high degree of energy efficiency  incorporated in the houses in Liberty Park. The level of finishes, attention to detail, the personal involvement of our project  manager, and follow-up after move in have been exceptional,” Lauren says.

november-bmetro_barrettfam_print1Lauren and his wife, Debbie, spent several years looking for the perfect house for their planned downsizing. “We chose Liberty Park and it was a good fit. What is terrific about living in Liberty Park: the immaculately well-maintained parkway, parks and natural areas.  Coming home is a very calming drive through this beautiful neighborhood. It is convenient to shopping, dining, work and church, without having to rely on Highway 280. It is a place of natural beauty and people enjoying the outdoors,” Lauren says.

The home they chose fit their needs exactly. “Our plan is all on one level with a large master bedroom, and abundant storage. We were able to add a playroom/tv room  upstairs for our grandchildren. Having  previously designed and built two homes for our family, it was refreshing to find a plan that worked well for us, and we only had to select finishes and appointments, leaving the work up to others.” They chose a lot overlooking the park in Forest Hills, which has turned out to be a  great choice for their children and grandchildren, Lauren says.

The Barretts are both involved in church  activities and Bible studies. “I enjoy walking and running in Liberty Park on the well-lit streets.  Debbie enjoys cooking in her new kitchen and spending time helping with our grandchildren,” Lauren says. november-bmetro_barrettfam_print3

The Barretts have two adult children who are married and live nearby.  They have eight grandchildren, ages 1 to 17.  “They love to hang out with their grandparents, and spend a lot of time at our home,” Lauren says.
