Lindsay & Emanual Ellinas

I love many things about this city, but the people are my passion. I have been fortunate enough to travel the nation working with a variety of accomplished individuals, but I have found some of the most magical, hard working, and often overlooked to be right here in Birmingham. We are surrounded by an undeniable amount of energy that drives me both creatively and professionally. Too often it goes undetected or unappreciated.

So for the last decade, my mission has been to support and promote the people who make the magic happen. Through this feature, B-Metro has given me the opportunity to put a spotlight on some of these individuals, and my hope is that readers have discovered a few new reasons to love Birmingham.

This month I would like to ring in 2016 with a new beginning of my own and an enormous thank you to the readers and the community for making my Birmingdreams come true.

Last year I found unexpected romance with a Magic City artist whose list of successes begin with owning and running Magnetic Audio, a local recording studio, and Sitori Sonics, a world-renowned guitar pedal company. He is a musician, an engineer, and a designer. His efforts to the community include contributions to ArtPlay, Girls Rock, Crisis Center, Inc., and Secret Stages, to name a few. I am proud to have him not only as a contributing member of the Birmingham creative community, but now as my husband. Emanual Ellinas and I fit so perfectly that we decided to get married and throw a party that was authentically Birmingham.

January is the month of new beginnings, and we would like to celebrate with you by sharing some of the special moments of our own commencement. As the creator and producer of this feature, it has been my pleasure to put together a regular tribute to the people of this city.  Through this project, I hope you find yourselves falling more in love with our home every month. Thank you Birmingham for having me on your team, and thank you for supporting Birmingfamous. Happy New Year!
