Established in 1986 by Delia Viader, Viader’s estate vineyard is located on the Howell Mountain’s eastern slopes. Here they produce limited production red wines and red Bordeaux-style blends: Viader, V, Viader Syrah, and Viader Black Label.

Viader 2010 is 28 percent Cabernet Franc and 72 percent Cabernet Sauvignon. With the first swirl of this deep, dark wine, violent aromas from the Cab Franc entice the palate. Notes of complex layers of fig, cocoa, dark cherry, cloves and oak integrate in this well-balanced, dense, juicy wine. Its Cab Franc lends elegance and early approachability to the wine. And the Cab Sauvignon gives the wine structure and aging potential.

The Viader 2010 wine will be featured at the TumTum Tree Foundation’s 24th Annual Charity Wine Auction, along with the last cases of Dare 2010, their dry rose. Alan Viader is the 2013 Honorary Chairman of the weekend of events, which will take place on November 1-2. TumTum is the longest-running charity wine auction in the United States targeting children’s charities.  Proceeds from the weekend’s events benefit the following Alabama children’s charities: Magic Moments, Kid One Transport, Mitchell’s Place, The Red Barn and the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Division of Children’s of Alabama.
