What are your hobbies?

Competitive swimming, singing, and cooking


What brought you to Birmingham?

My mom and I moved to Birmingham when I was 5 from Nicaragua so we could be closer to family.


Tell us more about your hobbies.

I learned to swim when I was 19 months old, and I have been swimming competitively for 10 years. I also have been singing for about eight years. I was in the Birmingham girls’ choir for eight years. I have been cooking for a couple of years. I have gotten awards for my collards and pie.


What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Sucker-punching a boy in the nose when I was 3. And I meant to do it!


What’s your favorite food?

Mexican and Chinese


What is your idea of a perfect vacation?

Going to Hawaii and Los Angeles


If you could meet one person, who would it be, and what would you to say/ask them?

Michelle Obama. [I would ask] what it’s like to be the first lady and [live] in the White House.


Who is your role model and why?

My mom, because she has been many places and can speak many languages


What keeps you busy?

Swimming every day (two hours every day in the summer)


What do you want to be when you grow up?

A general or a pediatric surgeon and an Olympic swimmer


What’s your motto?

“Life is better when you are laughing.”
