If you think black is boring, think again. Fall 2012 brings all things dark out of the shadows with a new twist.  Mixing textures, shades and layering is a part of the change. Clothes as dark as night can make you fade into the background or stand out more than ever — it’s just up to your imagination.

While there is a lot of black for fall, there is an equal amount of white. Sure, it’s not exactly practical, but it makes a killer statement.

I’ve always hated rules in the fashion world. In a world of fantasy, extravagance and fun, who needs rules? Thankfully, this winter my least favorite rule is being thrown out the window. Let’s cast our fashion minds forward to the next time the weather turns cold and the leaves go out in a blaze of glory. Winter whites — cool, creamy and sophisticated — are a defiant shot of light in the midst of a long, dark season.
