Lisa Alexander’s success in advertising stems from a commitment to the client.

There is a sense of comfort in the early 20th century house that is home to Alexander Advertising, just off Highland Avenue on Birmingham’s Southside. The wide porch leading to the front door is welcoming on this rainy afternoon. Once inside, although the furnishings are very business-like, there is a coziness to the office.  But that veneer of comfort belies the obvious fact that what is going on beneath the roof and behind the walls of this home turned office is in fact, fast-paced, cutting-edge marketing and advertising. A small firm with a razor-sharp focus on its clientele’s needs, Alexander Advertising’s work is designed to do one thing exceedingly well: Grow a client’s business.

“We see our associations with our clients as more than just an agency-client relationship. We consider ourselves partners in their businesses. Our clients’ success is our success, and we work hard every day to make sure that our clients continue to grow, expand and achieve their marketing goals,” Alexander says.

From the time Alexander graduated from the University of Montevallo, she seemed to know she was headed toward a career in advertising. After working in media and ad agencies for several years in the Birmingham market, Alexander struck out on her own in 1993. She opened Alexander Advertising and put her own brand of exceptional customer service to work for herself.

President Lisa Alexander and Creative Services Director Paula Graves have been with the company since its inception. Amanda Priest, in charge of media services, and client services liaison Jessica Casto round out the agency.

Over Lisa Alexander´s 25 years in advertising and marketing, she has worked with clients as diverse as a pharmaceutical retailer, sporting goods retail chain, an award-winning restaurant chain, banks, law offices, mortgage firms, car dealers and retail stores. She´s based her career on building solid partnerships with her clients, helping them grow and expand successfully in an ever changing marketplace.

Over the decades in business, change has been a constant in the marketing world, with one remarkable difference specific to the world of Alexander Advertising. The agency has an enviable track record of keeping its clients satisfied and in the fold.

Advertising and marketing has changed markedly, particularly in the past few years, Alexander notes. There is the whole digital world that has opened a world of targeted and measurable opportunities for her clients, and the agency has jumped into that digital world while keeping a focus on traditional advertising as well, Alexander says.

Particularly with a large client such as Hibbett Sports, the opportunities to help grow the business are expanding exponentially with the explosion of new ways to reach out and touch consumers. Alexander says her agency works hard to stay on top of trends and return value to clients who entrusted their marketing messages to Alexander Advertising.
