March Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams

March Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams

Who you believe you are…you are.

I fear there is an epidemic out there sweeping the nation and threatening our sense of security, challenging our belief in who we think we are, how we see ourselves and what we stand for. I see this evil everywhere I look, all those Photoshopped images staring back at me from the pages of magazines claiming to make me feel better about myself. Taunting me from billboards, and on television. Mocking me on social media sites. I never feel bad about myself until I start to read and see all those messages about how I need to “fix” myself, and then it starts to get to me.

I don’t even feel like wearing my favorite new Chanel lipstick for fear that it might start to “feather” if I break into a smile. Oh, well, I am sure there is a medication I can find on a TV commercial tonight that I can get to cheer me up. After all, I do have some of the very symptoms that they mention. I have been known to eat, drink, make facial movements and have spontaneous bursts of uncontrollable laughter. Certainly, these are contributing reasons causing me to feel that I will forever ruin my health and looks and never measure up.

But, enough of this self-sabotaging thinking! I promised you that I would never let us wander from the path of glamour, and I will not. I am here to tell you that I have found the antidote to all of those fake, “wolf in a bikini” sabotaging messages, and it cannot be bought over the counter or prescribed. The cure for this malady lies within. (I feel so Zen saying that. After all, I am your Glamour Guru!).

Glam Darlings, the truth is, you must possess self-confidence. It’s critical, I tell you. You simply must be dripping with this accessory. There are just so many instances in life when you have to rely on it to carry you through. For instance, it takes a great degree of self-confidence to walk into a room wearing your tallest stiletto heels or crawl into bed wearing your most winning smile. And wearing your self-confidence proudly is the only thing that will get you through having an unflattering photo of yourself tagged on Facebook! I know it can be scary to show people the real you, who you really are inside, especially if you aren’t really sure yourself. I can relate to this because I am a Gemini. But I just carry on, confident that whoever I am, it’s the real me!

Self-confidence gives you the courage to bear any situation with style and grace. You won’t listen to the naysayers, haters and saboteurs. You will only hear your own loud, strong voice. And it’s easier to find your voice and speak when you are comfortable with your sense of self. I find that I even have the ability to comfortably articulate random and obscure facts and information with complete authority. My air of self-confidence keeps people from challenging me even when I say scientific things like “I know exactly how much pressure it takes to produce a diamond.” And I do, too. If you don’t believe me, just ask my husband.

So remember to carry your self-confidence with you wherever you go. It will save you from any embarrassing or potentially self-destructive situation. That’s how important it is and why I am sharing it with all of you. I am confident you will thank me. And you are so welcome, Darling!
