Drive Right In


The 2017 Alabama Auto Show, presented by America’s First Federal Credit Union, will be held April 6-9 at the BJCC Exhibition Halls.

300x600The event will kick off Wednesday, April 5th with the “Fueled by Passion” Charity Gala at The Club. The gala benefits A.G. Gaston Boys & Girls Club, Children’s Harbor, and Kid One. Contact the Birmingham Automobile Dealers Association at (205) 980-0540 to purchase tickets. The mission of the Birmingham Automobile Dealers Association is to give to children’s charities in our communities.

The Ride & Drive Experience will include test drives with BMW, Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota. The 2017 Ford GT is only being displayed at four auto shows in the U.S. in 2017. Currently the vehicle is in Chicago. You will be able to see it at the Alabama Auto Show April 6-9 at the BJCC.

Other things to see and do at the Alabama Auto Show include a climbing wall and GameZone video gaming truck. Thompson Tractor will have a skid steer on site and collect money tossed into the bucket for the three charities. Alabama Youth Education Services will have skills demonstrations throughout the weekend from automotive technology students from various schools around the state. The University of Alabama will have their EcoCAR 3 on site on Saturday of the show – the team is participating in a nationwide competition to engineer, build and market a hybrid-electric Chevrolet Camaro. The show also features a nine-hole golf course.

dscf0526Hours of operation: Thursday, April 6th, noon to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, April 7th and 8th, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, April 9th, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Military and senior citizen discounts are available any day. Tickets are $8 for ages 14 and up (under 14 are free). Good-any-day tickets can be purchased at or at the box office.
