Russell & Amber’s November Happenings

JLB Market Noel

The Junior League of Birmingham brings back the popular Market Noel! This indoor holiday market features dozens and dozens of vendors to help you find the perfect gift. We always enjoy walking around the market and getting to know the business owners while we sip on hot cocoa.  You’ll definitely get in the holiday spirit at this event.  The best part is that it helps support the many amazing non-profit organizations that the Junior League partners with! The market runs from November 20th-23rd at the Finley Center.  We hope to see you there!

The Adventure Film Series at Avondale Brewing

Our friends at Mountain High Outfitters have teamed up with Avondale Brewing to bring you a monthly film series that showcases films highlight the great outdoors! These events are free to attend and take place on the lawn at Avondale while the film is played on their giant screen  The first movie that was shown was the exciting documentary “Free Solo,” which was about a rock climber who doesn’t use ropes! These events are great for hanging out with friends and make for a fun date night as well.  We are looking forward to seeing which films will be screened in the upcoming months and will be posting about them in our Weekend Roundup blog posts!

This may just be the coolest Bham pop-up you haven’t heard of! Located on the corner of 19th St. and 2nd Ave. N, Upswing is a group of shipping containers that house a few local businesses! One of the business is Domestique Coffee! You can fill up your tumbler with hot coffee, or some delicious Nitro Coldbrew! There is on site wifi so you can lounge around and work while sitting on the cute patio furniture or while relaxing in one of the many hammock chairs! The other businesses popping up at Upswing Hide & Hunter + Great Bear Wax Co. and Urban Vintage + Magic City T-shirts!  We’ve already enjoyed a few mornings here and plan to spend a lot more time at this innovative space!

AL Theatre Holidays

Christmas in Birmingham doesn’t seem complete without watching at least one holiday classic at the historic Alabama Theater! From “White Christmas” to the hilarious “Christmas Vacation,” there are plenty of films to choose from. There are always some great character costumes at “Christmas Vacation,” a crowd favorite! We recommend buying tickets well in advance as these shows are almost guaranteed to sell out.  If this is your first time to celebrate the Holidays in the Ham, this is a must!
