It is called Local Loop, and its aim is to celebrate all things local. Modeled a bit after a farmer’s market and designed to be a lifestyle market. Birmingham is constantly growing and it can be hard to know about everything the city has to offer. Local Loop organizers, including Brittany McNaughton of Forecast Salon, hope to bring these experiences under one roof. The goal is to create a space for the public to get to know the people behind local businesses, as well as create a community among the businesses themselves. Bringing together a variety of businesses from different backgrounds will show a more complete view of what Birmingham represents. The inaugural event was held at Architectural Heritage at Pepper Place back in early December. The local businesses participating in this first event were Forecast, Chocolata, Mandi Rae Trott- Ecstatic Astrology, Mindy Santo- Mindset coach, Barri Thompson Interiors, Laura Merrill Interiors and Botaniko Skin. Entertainment included a video show by Katie and John Gaiser and music from DJ Coco.
