Biography
Family law is the branch of law with which most anyone can connect. It’s akin to rooting for your local high school football team. Not everyone has enrolled at Alabama, Auburn or Alabama State, but chances are people have walked the hallways at the neighborhood school and cheered for one of your friends or neighbors or their children.
Moore’s advocacy for family law clients was borne from raising four children, all of whom are now adults.
“As a father of four children who has personally been involved with the state’s child support system, I understand the emotional stake families invest when they have family law issues. It isn’t easy to have a judge determine what you have to spend on your child or when you can see them. But my empathy for those who have to go through it, serves me well when representing my clients.”
Moore also has a significant background in journalism. Beginning in 1997, Moore spent four years on the staff at The Montgomery Advertiser and served as a freelance writer for newspapers and magazines across the country. He has also hosted several radio shows, worked as a color commentator and play-by-play announcer for several college and professional teams and sports leagues. Additionally, he has worked in the marketing and public relations fields.
Q & A
What makes the field of family law something to which everyone can relate?
“Everyone may not have an intellectual property issue or have associations with criminals. But we all have parents, children, friends and loved ones who may need someone to represent their issues and interests in a courtroom or with the Department of Human Resources.”
How does your personal experience factor into your practice of the law?
“My understanding of family law situations helps me better serve my clients. I also come from a childhood that placed me in these situations. Being a child, standing in court over things you can’t control, is a memory that never goes away. So it has been a desire of mine to attempt to lessen the burden for those who must face these situations.”
