Theoangelo Perkins serves his community as both mayor and pastor. He became the first black mayor of Harpersville, Ala., in 2004, serving for 12 years. After leaving office in 2016, he returned as mayor in 2020. Theoangelo is a certified municipal official and serves as superintendent for the Harpersville Water System. He is the owner and qualifying broker for Realty Perks, the treasurer for Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham and serves on numerous boards and commissions throughout central Alabama. Theoangelo is founding pastor of Liberty Christian Church of Harpersville. Founded in 2003 with seven people, the congregation has grown to more than 250. Theoangelo loves to sing and laugh, but most of all he loves God and his community.
