Cindy Smith is not just the director of Salvation Army in Jasper. For many years, she has helped with financial planning, disasters, senior programs, feeding the needy, housing the homeless, mentoring youth and emergency services. She assists both Jasper City and Walker County schools with food, water and school supplies and her organization provides Christmas gifts for needy children. Cindy understands the importance of partnering with other service organizations so their clients’ needs are met. Although she is located in Walker County, Cindy oversees other Salvation Army sites in Blount, Winston, Marion and Clay counties. Her work ethic and commitment is known throughout the area’s nonprofit organizations, local government, foundations and faith-based organizations.
