Drop In Drop Out

Variety is the spice of life at Culinary Dropout at The Summit.

Culinary Dropout is a restaurant born from a college dropout and his culinary partners. Fourteen years and eleven locations later, Culinary Dropout drops in to The Summit for its first in Alabama location.

“We are thrilled to bring Culinary Dropout to the city of Birmingham,” said Sam Fox, Fox Restaurant Concepts founder and James Beard nominated restaurateur. “We have worked vigorously to create a dining experience deserving of the Birmingham community. We welcome guests with Culinary Dropout’s iconic hospitality and serve damn good food and drinks.”

Let’s talk about the food; the restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring classics done the Culinary Dropout way. Guests can expect signature dishes like the “famous in our own mind” House-made Soft Pretzels & Provolone Fondue, “Ma, the Meatloaf”, the crispy Fried Chicken drizzled in honey and build your own charcuterie boards piled with delectable meats and cheeses, like Hot Coppa, Prosciutto, aged Manchego, and pimento cheese. The extensive menu offers something for every tastebud, ranging from salads to sandwiches, Detroit-style pizza and so much more.

The bar is a  full 360-degrees, and equipped with TVs for sports fans. Culinary Dropout’s signature cocktails and huge selection of craft and local beer are fun and friendly. The Dropouts behind the bar will mix up cocktails like the “Playboi Stache” (vanilla tea-soaked vodka, passoā passion fruit liqueur, orange oil), “El Matador” (Gran Centenario Añejo, elderflower, ginger agave, orange bitters) or “Campfire Vibes” (100 proof bonded bourbon, chai jacked apple cider, Spanish vanilla, roasted five spice).

Brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The restaurant is open 11 a.m, to 11 p.m. daily with a start time at 10 on Saturdays and Sundays (closes at 10 on Sundays)
