Biography

Jennifer Rose, a Birmingham Alabama Divorce Attorney and Certified Family Law Specialist, founded this Alabama Family Law Firm to help families. As a former child of divorce herself, Jennifer knows all too well the toll it takes on families because she has been there, too. Being a divorce attorney has never just been a job for her, it’s a passion.

When you have any family law issue, it’s important that you place your trust in a divorce attorney or law firm who will give your case the respect it deserves and fight for your family as if it were their own. That’s the way Jennifer and her team of attorneys approach their profession.

“Our aim is to take as much stress out of a stressful situation as possible while guiding clients toward a happy resolution so that they can get on to the next phase of their life. We go the extra mile to get the best possible outcome for their case,” Jennifer Rose says.

The firm’s lead attorney, Jennifer Rose, has passed rigorous standards to earn the distinction of being a Certified Family Law Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, the only organization authorized by the Alabama State Bar to grant specialization for family law attorneys. You can rest easy knowing your difficult and sensitive matter is in the hands of an attorney who has proven through an extensive process her knowledge, experience, and expertise in the field. Associates and other staff are hired and trained to exacting standards. You can be assured they hold a very high level of legal skill.

Top 5 Things You Can Do to Have a More Successful Divorce

1. Open Communication with your attorney: Your attorney must know a complete history of your marriage, the good AND the bad, to be able to represent you adequately and effectively. The last thing you want to happen is for your attorney to get blindsided in court by something you were too embarrassed to share.

2. Self-Care: Taking time for self-care will help reduce stress tremendously. Reducing stress has been scientifically proven to help you think more clearly and be better able to make decisions regarding your divorce. Some examples of self care would be to seek therapy where you can get out your emotions in a nonjudgmental environment.  Exercise is also a great stress reducer and you’ll likely feel better about yourself as an added bonus.

3. Manage Expectations: Alabama is an equitable division state. What this means is, the Judge will want to equitably or fairly divide the parties’ assets. If you go into a divorce thinking that you will get everything and that your spouse will get nothing, you will be disappointed. Trust that a good attorney WILL work hard to get you the lion’s share of the pie; however, take them seriously when they say the Judge isn’t going to order your ex to live in a trashcan like Oscar the Grouch. Although some cases must go to trial, especially when kids are involved, in many cases we can work out a much better deal in a settlement than a Judge would order and you save time and money in the process.

4. Social Media: Social media can be your worst enemy during a divorce or your best friend. Nothing can derail a case faster than a social media post that paints you in a bad light, so you should be extremely careful about what you post. On the flip side, this can be beneficial to you if the other side shows bad judgment on their posts. Regardless, be mindful of how much of your situation you share on social media and be very cautious about ANY pictures, posts, or interactions that could be misconstrued or twisted. When in doubt, ask your attorney for guidance.

5. Be careful whom you take advice from: Your friends and family mean well; however, they likely don’t have a law degree and even if they do, they probably don’t know family law or your case specifically. Every case is different and what happened in cousin Joe’s case has nothing to do with yours. Friends and family can be a great source for moral support but are generally terrible sources of legal advice. Bottom line: family law is complicated so trust your attorney, they went to law school for a reason and are there to help.

No representation is made that the quality of legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers.
