Top 50 Over 50: Fred Agena

Originally from the Philippines, Fred Agena is best known as Singing Fred at Princeton Baptist Medical Center, where he has worked as a transporter for the last 10 years. Several years ago, Fred began singing as he moved a patient, causing many smiles and blessings as he went. Today his soothing voice fills the halls with “How Great Thou Art” or “Amazing Grace” as he serenades patients and employees alike. Fred’s positive energy, compassion, warmth, innovative thinking, teamwork, resilience and inclusiveness make the hospital a better place to be, in spite of many dealing with serious illness and the stress that brings to the employees. Fred is a reflection of the care and dedication showcased throughout Princeton’s 100-year legacy.
