The Faces of Birmingham-Southern’s Next Chapter
The story of Birmingham-Southern College contains all the elements of a classic narrative: a noble quest, heroes and heroines, antagonists and foils, conflicts and challenges, plot twists and cliffhangers. Now, after successfully meeting the greatest challenge of its 167-year history, BSC has begun to write the next chapter in its story.
The Next Chapter campaign will ensure that Alabama’s best liberal arts college continues co deliver on its mission to prepare young people for lives of significance – lives that make a difference to Birmingham, co Alabama and co the world. Gifts co the campaign from everyone who understands BSC’s value will create an endowment that will make the College financially resilient for the long term. Led by Board of Trustees Chair Rev. Keith Thompson ’83, senior minister at Canterbury United Methodist Church; Daniel B. Coleman, BSC’s 16th president; and Board Vice Chair Joelle James Phillips ’89, president of AT&T Tennessee, BSC will continue its quest to produce lifelong learners, team players, critical thinkers, and problem -solvers who leave the Hilltop ready to serve a world that needs smart people of integrity to lead it through challenging and ever-changing times.
