Dr. Rodney Tucker is a board-certified physician in internal medicine and hospice and palliative care. An Alabama native, he is a graduate of UAB and University of Southern California. Rodney has held several leadership roles at UAB, served as a neighborhood association president and was on the Birmingham Planning Commission for nine years. He was president of the UAB National Alumni Society in 1994 and president of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine in 2020. Rodney remains active in the palliative care of UAB Hospital patients, serves as the associate director for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion of the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center and maintains an internal medicine practice at Magic City Wellness Center. He and his husband are longtime Birmingham residents and live in the city center, enjoying all the downtown amenities.
