Top 50 Ove 50: Jerry Tracey

As far back as he can remember, Jerry Tracey knew he wanted to go on television and tell people about the weather. After receiving a bachelor of science degree in Meteorology from Pennsylvania State University, he spent 10 years at Accu-Weather forecasting for broadcast stations, local governments and businesses. Jerry recently retired as the longest-serving chief meteorologist at a single station in Birmingham history, spending 35 years at WVTM 13. In addition to his on-air presence, Jerry spent countless hours outside the station visiting schools and communities to teach about forecasting. He also co-hosted the Children’s Miracle Network broadcast from 1989 until 2006. Jerry and his wife, Kathy, have two children, Stephen and Michele, and four grandchildren.
