On Saturday, November 1, Adiõs marked an especially meaningful moment. Founders José Medina Camacho and Jesús Méndez, who also own Salud Taqueria, embrace Día de los Muertos as a way to share their heritage and bring people together. Both draw deeply from their Mexican roots in shaping spaces that celebrate culture and community.
“It is an honor to be in Birmingham and and for the city to receives us as well as it has,” says Camacho.
Adiõs honors Día de los Muertos year-round with a permanent ofrenda (pictured here) and immersive programming, creating a gathering place where memory and tradition live on. This year is especially significant as the holiday coincides with Adiõs’ third anniversary—a milestone that highlights how José and Jesús have built a bar rooted in heritage while growing into a true community hub.
“We are trying to keep the tradition alive,” Camacho says.
